5th training course held in Slovenia

The topic of the training was focused on "Market effectiveness of renewable energy sources and how to increase the use of wood biomass in energy sector" organized by Slovenian Forestry Institute and RDA Green Karst, held on November 15, 2018.

On Thursday, November 15, 2018, a training course was held in the premises of the Slovenian Forestry Institute as part of the ForBioEnergy project. The topic of the training was focused on "Market effectiveness of renewable energy sources and how to increase the use of wood biomass in energy sector". The event was organized by Slovenian Forestry Institute and RDA Green Karst. Participants of the conference were very diverse; from representatives of Biotechnical Faculty, EKO Fund, Slovenian Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry, energy consultants, Slovenian Forest Service, Ministry of agriculture, forestry and food, Slovenian Forestry Institute, Ministry of infrastructure, Slovenian Forest Owners Association and other organizations.

Various topics were presented at the conference; efficient use of renewable energy sources, the development of self-energy supply village, opportunities and incentives (EKO Fund) for co-financing the costs of transition to wood biomass boilers, main steps for establishment of wood-energy-supply chain, the importance of quality wood fuels and potentials of biomass use in Slovenia. At the end a lively discussion evolved.
